UStadh Sirnucy Lafiagi: Sharia and its role in Societal reformation

There is no gainsaying the fact that the Nigerian society as it is, is bedeviled by  menace of socio-economic and political problem and one of our roles as the ummah is to reform the society in line with the teaching of Allah (SWT) and the sunnah of Muhammad (SAW). There is therefore, a need to know how the sharia, which is the norm of Islam aim to reform the society via its regulation.

Literally, Sharia is a path to watering hole. Considering the essentials of water to life, the relevance of Sharia to our life cannot be over-emphasized. Just like water, Sharia is essential to our survival and well being as Muslims.

Technically, Sharia can simply be defined as the totality of the laws and ordinances revealed by Allāh in the noble Qur'ān as well as in the statements and actions of Prophet Muhammad in his capacity as the recipient of the wahyu (Divine revelation) and its interpreter par excellence.

By Maqosid, we mean objectives or aims of something. There are six maqosid (objectives) of Sharia which are:
  • Protection and promotion of the religion  through the prohibition of shirk, kufr and bidia, obligation of Ṣolāh, Ṣiyām, Zakāh and Ḥajj, et cetera and jihad(in defence).
  • Enhancement and safeguarding of life through prohibition of abortion, female infanticide, suicide, euthanasia(mercy killing) and legislation of retributive justice and retaliation of injury.
  • Protection and enhancement of the intellect through the promotion of education, encouragement to seek for knowledge, prohibition and punishment of consumption of intoxicants and gambling.
  • Protection of lineage through promotion of marriage, prohibition of Zina, provision of punishment for pre and extra marital affairs, discouragement of divorce, disheriting the illegitimate children, promotion and regulation of polygyny.
  •  preservation of wealth through legislation of trade, prohibition of interest, hoarding, bribery, corruption, encouragement of hard work, prohibition of extravagance and waste, severe punishment for stealing, bribery and brigandage.
  • Protection of honour through condemnation of defamation, punishment for false accusation of Zinā, prohibition of unnecessary suspicion and incursion into other’s privacy.

From the aforementioned, it is clear that the objectives of the Sharīah are to promote and protect our interest and it is only if we apply the laws of Sharīah in our private and public affairs, will our society be better reformed, sane and safe. The Sharīah seeks not to punish but to deter and reform.

There’s thus, an urgent need to educate and enlighten the Ummah to inculcate the injunctions of the Sharīah and promote its beauty among people of other faiths.

Prophet Salih

The people of Thamud

lived in a valley

called al-Hajr

in the north of Arabia.

It was a good land

so everything grew very easily.

Cattle and sheep grazed

on the land.

Everyone

had plenty of everything.

When people have a lot

they sometimes forget

who provides everything,

they sometimes forget Allah.

When this happens

Allah sends a messenger

or a prophet

to try to help the people.

To the people of Thamud,

Allah sent Salih.

Salih told the people

to remember Allah

but a lot of people just

laughed

at him and would

not listen.

He did not give up.

He still tried to persuade

them to worship Allah

and soon people

began to listen.

They realised Salih was right.

The leaders of Thamud

were upset by this.

They did not want people

to listen to Salih.

They did not believe Salih

was sent by Allah.

They wanted him to prove it,

they wanted a sign.

They told Salih

to bring them a camel

but it had

to be a

special camel.

Salih prayed to Allah

and Allah sent

the special camel.

The camel gave lots and

lots of milk so all the poor

people had enough to drink,

and they were very happy.

The leaders of Thamud

became

angry again to see Salih

and his followers so happy.

They decided

to kill the camel.

Salih told them that Allah

would punish them.

Salih took all the good people

away from the valley.

A terrible earthquake came

and destroyed the valley

and all the bad people.

If they had listened to Salih

they would have been saved.

The role of Sharia in societal reformation (upcoming Event)

Islam is a complete way of life, sent by Allah in the form of revelation by means of Prophet Muhammad (s). As such it covers the three essential needs of human life: physical, intellectual and spiritual.

Shariah is the Islamic Law – the disciplines and principles that govern the behavior of a Muslim individual towards his or herself, family, neighbors, community, city, nation and the Muslim polity as a whole, the Ummah. Shariah establishes the criteria by which all social actions are classified, categorized and administered within the overall governance of the state.

Before colonization, Shari’a was observed by Muslims. Traditional application of Shari’a by communities was replaced by European-style laws that were developed so the government could enforce them and the result, is a nation of societal deception, where wrong becomes right and right becomes wrong.

Join us at Al-Usrah Ph this Sunday, 17th Dec. 2017 by 10:30am as we discuss the objectives of the Sharia and its role in societal reformation.

Lecture by ustadh Sirnucy Lafiagi of the department of Islamic studies, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin.

The role of Sharia in societal reformation

Tafsir of Suratul Tahrim Qur'an Chapter 66 verses 6 to 12.

Suratul Tahrim is the last of the ten-short chapters revealed in madinah.

Topics in the Chapter

  • Making one’s spouse his/her confidant
  • Protection of one’s life and the family: Socially, morally and spiritually
"O you who believe! save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones; over it are angels stern and strong, they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them, and do as they are commanded" (66:6). This advice is to all members of the family be it: The father, Mother, Children, and relatives.
  • No excuse for the infidels
"It will be said in the Hereafter) O you who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islâmic Monotheism)! Make no excuses this Day! You are being requited only for what you used to do." (66:7)
  • Sincere Repentance
"O you who believe! turn to Allah a sincere turning; maybe your Lord will remove from you your evil and cause you to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the day on which Allah will not abase the Prophet and those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them and on their right hands; they shall say: Our Lord! make perfect for us our light, and grant us protection, surely Thou hast power over all things." (66:8)
  • Being Strict with the unbelievers & Hypocrites
"O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and be hard against them; and their abode is hell; and evil is the resort." (66:9)
  • Every soul is the bearer of his or her own burden
Staying with the righteous will not guarantee admission to paradise, but can influence one actions."Allah sets forth an example to those who disbelieve the wife of Nuh and the wife of Lut: they were both under two of Our righteous servants, but they acted treacherously towards them so they availed them naught against Allah, and it was said: Enter both the fire with those who enter." (66:10)

Also, staying with criminals can’t affect one’s deen and deeds. "And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe, the wife of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), when she said: "My Lord! Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his work, and save me from the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers in Allah). " (66:11)
For a detailed commentary of this verse, read "The Disbelievers can cause no Harm to the Believers"
  • Rewards of being righteous
"And Maryam, the daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our inspiration and she accepted the truth of the words of her Lord and His books, and she was of, the obedient ones." (66:12)

Conclusion

Brothers in Islaam: Do we have aspirations to call our family to Allah? Is there a level that we wish to reach in terms of our men and women?

Yes, we wish that when we look at our family we would see in them qualities mentioned by Allah the Exalted : "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward." [QUR’AAN 33:35]

Whenever these attributes are realized in our homes and families, we would reach the goal that is spoken of and would have completed the task and goal.

Some would ask that if one accomplishes this, should they then lay the proverbial stick down, and relax from the hardships of calling them? The answer is no, until we and our families place our first steps in Paradise. That is true relaxation and everlasting bliss and happiness.

The Disbelievers can cause no Harm to the Believers

Allah gives the parable for believers

وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلً لِّلَّذِينَ امَنُوا اِمْرَأَةَ فِرْعَوْنَ

إِذْ قَالَتْ
And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe:
the wife of Fir`awn, when she said:

 رَبِّ ٱبْنِ لِى عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِى مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِۦ وَنَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظّٰلِمِينَ
"My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people." (66:11)

This is a parable that Allah made of the believers, in that, if they needed to, their association with the disbelievers will not harm them. Allah the Exalted said,

Let not the believers take the disbelievers as protecting friends instead of the believers, and whoever does that, will never be helped by Allah in any way, except you indeed fear a danger from them. (3:28)

Qatadah said,

"Fir`awn was the most tyrannical among the people of the earth and the most disbelieving. By Allah! His wife was not affected by her husband's disbelief, because she obeyed her Lord. Therefore, let it be known that Allah is the Just Judge Who will not punish anyone except for their own sins."

Ibn Jarir recorded that Sulayman said,

"The wife of Fir`awn was tortured under the sun and when Fir`awn would finish the torture session, the angels would shade her with their wings. She was shown her house in Paradise."

Ibn Jarir said that Al-Qasim bin Abi Bazzah said,

"Fir`awn's wife used to ask, `Who prevailed?'

When she was told, `Musa and Harun prevailed', she said, `I believe in the Lord of Musa and Harun.'

Fir`awn sent his aides to her and said to them, `Find the biggest stone. If she insists on keeping her faith, throw the stone on her, otherwise she is my wife.

When they came to her, she looked up to the sky and was able to see her house in Paradise. She persisted on the faith and her soul was then captured. The stone was thrown on her lifeless body."

This is the meaning of her statement,

رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

وَنَجِّنِي مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِ

My Lord! Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir`awn and his work,

means, `deliver me from him, because I am innocent of his actions,'

وَنَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

and save me from the people who are wrongdoers.

Her name was Asiyah bint Muzahim, may Allah be pleased with her.

Prof. Abdulrazaq KIlani: Muhammad Ur Rasulullah ( Muhammad The Messenger Of Allah)

All praises are due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds who has sent to mankind the unlettered Prophet Muhammad as a mercy to the worlds. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the noble Prophet Muhammad(sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam), his family, his companions and all those who follow his teachings till the day of accountability.  Allah says:
Q 3:102-O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.
Q 4:1-O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.
Q 33:70-1-O ye who believe! Fear Allah, and (always) say a word directed to the Right: That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest achievement.
Verily, the best speech is Allah’s speech; the best guidance is Muhammad’s (saw) guidance: and the worst matters (in creed or worship) are those innovated (by the people), for every innovated matter is bid’ah ( prohibited innovation), and every bid’ah is an act of misguidance that(whoever initiated it) will reside in the Fire
TO PROCEED
Muhammadur rasulullah  is the second part of Kalimatush-Shahadah which means the statement of testimony or witnessing. It simply means that Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah. We need to ask basic question, Who is Muhammad? Allah told us in Q. 36: 3 that,  ‘truly, you are one of the messengers’. In Q 48:29, Allah declares that undoubtedly  that Muhammad ((sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) is a Messenger of Allah. Among other information necessary  for every Muslim in the doctrine of Islam is that he is a Messenger and the last of the messengers of Allaah and every Muslim must  get directives from his ways of life because Allah informs us that he is on the straight Way(Q 36:4). The implication of this to our salvation is that  anyone who fails to follow him is on the wrong path and such a person will be a loser on the Day of Judgment.
HE IS A HUMAN BEING LIKE US. The adherents of religions before Islam are condemned in their deification of prophets and other human beings as gods besides Allah, the Creator and Nourisher of the universe. In the case of Islam, Allah sanctifies the creeds of Islam from all forms of deification of messengers of Allah as gods besides Allah and the Muslims are told that Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) was a human being and not God. In Q9: 128-9, Allah says:
Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger from among yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He is eager for you; for the believers ?he is? full of pity, kind, and merciful. But if they turn away, say: "Allah is sufficient for me. There is no God but He, in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.''
IMPLICATIONS OF MUHAMMAD RASULLAH
The simple explanation of the two branches of the Kalimatush shahadah is what is explained to a person who wants to become a Muslim. In our earlier write up we have discussed the implication of  La ilaha ilah Allah in  the creed of Islam while the second part is the focus of this weekly admonition.
Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) is a  teacher per excellence for all humankind. Allah says in Q2:151-2 thus:
Similarly (to complete My blessings on you), We have sent among you a Messenger  (Muhammad ) of your own, reciting to you Our verses (the Qur'an) and purifying you, and teaching you the Book (the Qur'an) and the Hikmah (i. e., Sunnah, Islamic laws and Fiqh ? jurisprudence), and teaching you that which you did not know. Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless favors on you) and never be ungrateful to Me.)
The verses above have shown to us that his Messengership is a blessing to entire humanity irrespective of colour, language and nationality  and his teachings are meant to purify us from all impurities of worshipping other gods to the purity of worshipping One True God who is called Allah. The message of Islam was above to purify the Arabs who worshipped many gods to such an extent  that a god is worshipped daily to the worship of Allah alone. We can also recall our own lives too may be in some years back before  we became conscious of Islam as a divine gift in our life. Islam has taken away divination, libation to rocks or trees, prostration to objects that are unable to benefit or harm us as our gods. This is the hallmark of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) to all parts of the world.
He (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) is a witness over us and this is explained in  Q33: 45-6:
O Prophet! Verily, We have sent you as witness, and a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner,. And as one who invites to Allah by His leave, and as a lamp spreading light
The Prophet (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) explains the truth of the pillars of Islam plainly and proclaimed without hesitation  to humankind the absolute fear  in Allaah,  His Unity and attributes in an environment dominated by the worship of many idols. The Prophet (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) openly presented the morality and values of Islam as revealed to him and  he proclaimed as lawful what Allaah has made lawful and unlawful what Allaah made unlawful. The Prophet (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) proclaimed as unlawful  Alcohol, adultery/fornication, falsehood in talks, falsehood in business dealings in a society that took joy in all these vices. He commanded the Muslims to ‘pray as you see me praying’, on Hajj again, ‘take the rites of your hajj from me’ and declares marriage as his Sunnah, whoever dislikes it is not part of him.
Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) is a role model. A role model is a celebrity, who has a prominent profile in day-to-day life. S/he commands some degree of public fascination and influence. A role model is usually expected to be wealthy (commonly denoted as a person with fame and fortune) and s/he is a person of great popular appeal, prominence in a particular field, and is easily recognized by the general public. In our contemporary times, some of the role models  many youths adore today are those who have made careers in entertainment, sports, music, supermodels, business leaders/ Financial guru or CEO,Religious leaders and political leaders. A Muslim is mandated as a religious principle and article of faith to take Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) as his or her role model as his mission encapsulate all facets of human endeavours. In  Q.33:21, Allah says, ‘Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much’.
Prophet Muhammad  must be obeyed by all Muslims. In Islam, no one deserves to be worshipped except Allah and what we are expected to give to the Messengers of Allah is obedience. In this vein, Allah says in Q 4:80, ‘ He who obeys the Messenger, has indeed obeyed Allah, but he who turns away, then We have not sent you as a watcher over them’.  In a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam), he says, ‘Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, will acquire guidance; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, will only harm himself’. In another Hadith reported by Abu Hurayrah, the Prophet (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) was  reported that, ‘Whoever obeys me, obeys Allah; and whoever disobeys me, disobeys Allah. Whoever obeys the Amir (leader, ruler), obeys me; and whoever disobeys the Amir, disobeys me’.[Bukhari &Muslim]. A Muslim is expected to adhere to the directives of Allah and His Messenger. In Q 33.36, Allah says:
It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path.
It is unfortunate to note today that those who obey Allah and His messenger in marital life, dressing like adorning the hijab by females, keeping of beard by males and other established traditions of Islam are derided and scorned by some Muslims and non-Muslims. Our advice to the Muslims is to be strong and maintain their steadfastness. Obedience to Allah and His messenger does not go in vain as Allah says in Q.33:71 that, ‘And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed achieved a great victory’. The person will be saved from the fire of Hell and will enjoy everlasting delights (in Paradise). This is the promise of Allah for the righteous. The Prophet must be followed in the laws he prescribes as mentioned in Q59:7, ‘So take what the Messenger assigns to you, and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you’. The Prophet (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) must be allowed to play the role of a judge in our lives as mentioned in Q 4:65 thus:
But no, by your Lord, they can have no faith, until they make you judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.)
HONOUR IN MENTIONING HIS NAME
The manner of addressing the Prophet(sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) or the manner of mentioning his name must be with honoured and it must be in the manner of those who have no knowledge or who are uncultured. In Q  24:63, Allah says:
Make not the calling of the Messenger among you as your calling one of another. Allah knows those of you who slip away under shelter. And let those beware who oppose the Messenger's commandment, lest some Fitnah should befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them
Allah commanded that His Prophet should be treated with respect and honor and When you address him, do not say, `O Muhammad,' or `O son of `Abdullah'; rather honor him and say, `O Prophet of Allah,' or, `O Messenger of Allah.' In the same respect, never joke with his mission, personality or statements. Don’t ridicule his sunnah and don’t deride those who uphold his sunnah in their lives.
He is the last of all messengers. The office of Prophethood or messengership in Islam is a divine favour of Allah on His chosen creatures. One cannot appoint oneself as a prophet or messenger in Islam. The prophetic institution began with our father Adam (alayhi salaam) and ended with the noblest of Adam’s children, Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam). In Q.33:40, Allah says, ‘ But he is the Messenger of Allah and the last of the Prophets’. Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) also explained the finality of prophethood with himself in a tradition:
My parable among the Prophets is that of a man who built a house and did a good and complete job, apart from the space of one brick which he did not put in its place. The people started to walk around the building, admiring it and saying, "If only that brick were put in its place. '' Among the Prophets, I am like that brick.) It was also recorded by At-Tirmidhi,
There is no one who believes that a person was raised by Allah to humankind in the capacity of a prophet without the person taking  himself away from  Islam. The tawhid of following the prophet is among the bedrock upon which the creed of Islam is based. Any teaching that runs contrary to the finality of his messengership is regarded as heretical and outside the fold of Islam.
Send Salah to him whenever his name is mentioned. Allah has chosen Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam)  as the last of His messengers and Allah has commanded believers to send prayers unto him always as mentioned in  Q.33.56, ‘Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send your blessings on him, and salute him with all respect’. By Allah's Salah  it means  mercy and  Salah from the angels means their supplication and seeking forgiveness for him. This is a great favour from Allah to our beloved Prophet Muhammad. The Prophet (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam)  taught his companions to send prayer to him as follows:
"O Allah, send Your Salah upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your Salah upon the family of Ibrahim, verily You are the Most Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your blessings upon the family of Ibrahim, verily You are Most Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.''
In celebrating the Prophet (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam) , we must follow  the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallah Allahu alayhi wasallam) and shun bid’ah(heretical innovations). We must obey his teachings and never to mock or jest his teachings. We must love him more than ourselves and our parents. This is the index of faith. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the soul of our noble Prophet Muhammad (sallah  Allahu alayhi wasalaam).

Pray as You have seen me pray

Salat literally means Prayer. It is an act of worship comprises special words and deeds begins with takbir and ends with taslim. It is an obligation upon a Muslim and a Muslim is to offer no excuse when it comes to offering Salat.

The Messenger of Allah said: “The first thing for which the slave will be held accountable for on the Day Resurrection is his prayer, if it is good (by performing it properly and on time), then all his affairs will be good, and if it is ruined (by neglecting it), then all his affairs will be ruined.” [At-Tabaraani]

A Muslim must realize that above anything, Salat is an obligation and every Muslim has to fulfill his or her obligation. As much as Salat is important, it is also important that each step of Salat is performed with complete precision.

The prophet (pbuh) said, "Pray as you have seen me praying" (Sahih Bukhari book 1 volume 1, Hadith 604).

Prophetic panacea to the menace of corruption.

Who is prophet Muhammed (saw) ?

Prophet Muhammed is one if the messengers of Allah (swt) ,who is on the straight part and we are to follow his directives as Muslims. Q36:2-4.  He is also a teacher that  teaches wisdom and purify us. Q2:151.  He is a favour to us ,a warner ,a witness over us ,a caller to Allah, and a bearer of glad tiding. Q33:45-46.  He is a mercy to the world of mankind's and jins. Q21:107. Above all he is a human being like us. Q48:29. So, the prophet came to transform the corrupt world. The Rasul was humble, gives charity, goodness to both human and animals, truthful, and trusted.

What is corruption?

Corruption is abuse of entrusted power for private gain. It is a conduct that adversely affects the honest performance. Allah says in Q30:141. "Corruption has appeared in the land and the sea on account of what the hands of men have brought, that He may make them taste a part of that which they have done, so that they may return. "
In Islam ,corruption is defined as a spiritual or moral impurity and deviation from an ideal .Q5:90-91.

Forms of corruption.

🔹Taking and collecting bribes .
🔸Fraud  either by accountant, trader's, theft, embezzlement, misuse of information, spreading false information on social media, e.t.c
🔹Acts committed at a high level of government that distorts policies, e.g Ex. governors pensions, misuse of bail out funds and Paris refund.
🔺Petty corruption- this refers to every day abuse of entrusted power by law by public officials in their interactions with ordinary citizens in places like hospitals, schools, policemen, all cadres of civil servants, budget padding ,contract sharing percentage, e.t.c.

Solutions to corruption.

Allah (Ta ala) establish men on land to enjoin good and forbids evil. Q22:41.
🔸Be a mallam of integrity.
🔹Be conscious of halal income ,not only halal meat or chicken.
Do things because we have a day of accountability Q4:87.
 🔻Adorn yourselves with Islamic character.
🔹Discharge your duty with trust always.
🔸Our ibaadah must be internalised, don't use stolen money for acts of lbaadah.
🔺Hasten to do good deeds always.Q3:114.
🔹Pay living salary and not miserable one.
🔸Don't give or take bribe ,it is a major sin.

In conclusion

We should realise that it is our attitude to life that leads us to corruption.
And that some sins can invalidate our good deeds.
That the right of Allah is for Him to be worshiped, and that of man is not to corrupt his soul.
We pray that Allah make our tasks easy for us and count us among the forgiven one. Amin .

Fiqh' of Purification

Purification, according to Qur'an and sunnah is an obligatory acts of cleanliness commanded by Allah (SWT) on every obedient servant of His. Allah (SWT) is pure and will not accept that which is not pure.

Basically, purification are of two types: internal purification and external purification.
While Internal Purification deals with purification of soul from shirk(associating partner with Allah) and other sinful acts, external purification deals with purification of body, cloth and place of worship from impurities and performance of ablution, tayammum and bathing (Ghusl).

Knowledge; the Foundation of Ibadah

Seeking Knowledge is a sign of a Believer and the best of all branches of Knowledge are the sciences of sharee’ah through which man comes to know his Lord and His prophet and religion.

The first aayah of the Qur’an to be revealed enjoined reading being the key to Knowledge. Allah Says “Read! In the name of your lord who has created (all that exists). [Al-alaq 96:1]

And in a hadith Qudsi, the Prophet said that Allah says: Search for knowledge about Me before you worship Me. How will he who does not know Me worship Me correctly?”
The aforementioned establishes the status of Knowledge as the Foundation of Ibadaah and Ibaadah is the main reason behind our existence on the face of the earth. Allah most high says “I have not created the Jinn and Mankind but to worship me” [51:56]
The lecture was delivered by Ustadth Zubair ibrahim on 5th, Nov. 2017.
